During my travels around Australia, I have noted many places with unusual or funny names. The following is just the beginning of what I hope will be an extensive listing of funny place names in Australia.

Merrywinebone	Between Pokataroo and Rowena on the road between Collarenebri and Burren Junction	Nothing much to see there, most of the area is absorbed into one huge cotton plantation. Roads go every which way and getting lost is really easy. Black soil that promises lots of problems if it rains. (thanks to Ray Bell)
Upotipotpon	Between Euroa and the Murray River	Always given as a turn point in Navigation exercises in the Air Training Corps in the '50s. I went there and it's just an intersection. (thanks to Andrew Nielsen)
Nowhere Else	Northern Tasmania	Legend says that the original maker of the road ran it past his house to his hayshed. When people stopped at the house asking where the road went, the reply was...... (thanks to Pottsy)
Tittybong	Victorian Mallee, South of Swan Hill	John Pryce once said that Tittybong was an aboriginal word, meaning 'Independent Front Suspension'.... (thanks to Geoff Schmidt)
